Frequently Asked Questions

How often do I need to service the SWK-2000?
If the SWK-2000 assembly includes the optional vacuum gauge, the filter must be serviced around 11 inHg depending on the starting gauge reading (varies per installation). You can backflush the filter up to 5 times before replacing the element. For example, if no improvement occurs in the vacuum gauge reading on the 3rd backflush, then element replacement is required at that time.
Which micron do I need?
The SWK-2000 and EVO-10 filters come standard with 30 micron element installed, which is sufficient for most applications. The LKF comes standard with the 10 micron installed. Some engines will specify 10 micron as the requirement. For complete assurance, it is best to verify with your engine manufacturer
Do I need to replace the lid gasket too?
No, the lid gasket does not need to be replaced with every new element–only if it has dried out or cracked over time.
