Common Questions

How do I replace the element?

How often do I need to change the element?
At least once a year or when vacuum reaches 11 in-Hg.

Which micron do I need?
Filters come standard with 30 micron, which is sufficient for most applications. Some engines will specify 10 micron as the requirement. For complete assurance, it is best to verify with your engine manufacturer.

Do I need to replace the lid gasket too?
No, the lid gasket does not need to be replaced with every new element–only if it has dried out or cracked over time.

How can I tell if I have a genuine Separ Filter element?
